 Loop Creek District YMCA
During 1920 the citizens of Mount Hope and vicinity decided it would be a fine thing for community if some provisions were made to provide better and cleaner amusements for boys and girls. After several meetings by interested parties a conference was held with Y.M.C.A officials. Finally in 1921, a formal Y.M.C.A. organization was formed, a drive put on for funds, and the results was a magnificent building dedicated in 1922 at a cost of $110,000, fully equipped and paid for.

The Loop Creek District Young Men's Christian Association building served many thousands of men and women, boys and girls during the era. An indoor swimming pool was in service, with regular gymnasium classes held during the winter months and tennis, "big ball," and other games during the greater part of the year. As built, the building contained a boy's department, ladies' department, swimming pool, bowling alleys, pool room, a 60x80 gymnasium fully equipped with a stage and dressing rooms, and a seating capacity for 500 spectators; spacious lobby, 18 dormitory rooms, a banquet hall, a completely equipped kitchen, and lockers and locker rooms.
